Community Outreach and Awareness (COR)
The Program Community Outreach and Awareness program has been a core activity that goes together with Home Care services. The program is executed by a team of seasoned and competent Community Outreach Officers with the aim to disseminate basic yet vital information about cancer, palliative care and CanSupport’s free of charge services to the most underserved communities like slums, villages, low income colonies and resettlement areas.
Key stakeholders of these communities are educated and empowered to identify people facing cancer and refer them to our helpline for timely guidance and support. IEC material in Hindi, Gurmukhi and English is distributed extensively for ready information. The team also organises regular awareness and screening sessions in these communities through our doctors, nurses and build effective networks for coordination across various care components.
The team also organises around 50 cancer awareness sessions and screening camps annually in collaboration with RWAs, Clubs, Societies, Educational Institutions and several Corporates.
The average footfall in these camps is 50-60
