To mark World Hospice and Palliative Care Day (WHPCD), CanSupport hosted a memorable Charity Dinner at CSOI, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi, where it unveiled the evocative photographic exhibition Touching Lives by renowned British photographer Barbara Hind.
Touching Lives is a deeply moving collection that captures the dignity, resilience, and humanity of people living with life-limiting illnesses — and the compassion and strength of those who care for them. Known for her sensitive and socially engaged lens, Barbara Hind has travelled extensively to tell stories that go far beyond illness — stories of love, hope, and courage that celebrate life even in its most fragile moments.
Through this exhibition, CanSupport aims to raise awareness about the importance of palliative care and to honour the journeys of patients and families who remind us that every moment of life is precious. The unveiling of Touching Lives lent a poignant and heartfelt dimension to the evening, which brought together friends, supporters, and well-wishers united by their commitment to compassionate care.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ambika Rajvanshi, CEO, CanSupport, shared,
“Barbara Hind’s work beautifully mirrors the essence of palliative care — it’s about seeing the person beyond the illness and celebrating their spirit. We are honoured to present this exhibit at our WHPCD Charity Dinner.”
The exhibit was inaugurated at CSOI, Chanakyapuri, alongside the commemorative gathering. Proceeds from the evening will go towards sustaining CanSupport’s free-of-charge palliative care services for cancer patients and their families, ensuring that comfort, dignity, and compassion continue to reach those who need it most.
