Cancer survivor and pioneer in cancer support services in India. Founder-President of CanSupport and Cancer Care India and founder of Cancer Sahyog.

She was a board member of the International Association of Hospice & Palliative Care (IAHPC) based in the USA and has been on the Executive Committee of the Indian Association of Palliative Care (IAPC). She is presently a fellow of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) in Geneva as well.

Dr. Bhawna Sirohi began her oncology training at Tata Memorial Centre, Mumbai, in 1994, completing it at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, UK. She has published 200+ papers & edited 3 books on cancer. She is on the international editorial board of Lancet Oncology, ecancer. She serves on the scientific advisory committee of Indian Council of Medical Research. Dr. Bhawna was honored by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh in recognition of her dedicated healthcare services in the state. She sits on the ASCO committee for health equity and outcomes; & climate change and cancer.

Mohini Daljeet Singh is a social worker, an educationist and a Trustee of the Max India Foundation.

In her previous role as CEO of Max India Foundation, Mohini Daljeet Singh worked for the underprivileged on the health platform benefiting 2.6 million beneficiaries at 704 locations and partnering with 410 NGOs.

Under her stewardship as the founding CEO, Max India Foundation has won several awards including the Golden Peacock Award for CSR for four consecutive years. Recently she has been awarded ‘Best Woman Leadership Excellence award in CSR’ at The South Asian Partnership Summit & Business Awards held in Colombo. She also received the award for “Excellent Social Accomplishments” by ‘Samast Bharat’. The award was given away by His Holiness Dalai Lama at Dharamshala.

Dr. Udita Joshi

Dr. Udita Joshi has joined us as the Director for Projects & Research. Having obtained a Master’s from the Indian Institute of Public Health, Delhi, she has a strong background in research, policy, and program management. She has previously served as a Consultant at the National Health Systems Resource Centre (NHSRC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, contributing to policy synthesis, technical reporting, and stakeholder coordination. She has also led academic and implementation research at Bangalore Hospice Trust - Karunashraya and Sangath, Bhopal, focusing on digital mental health and palliative care training, in collaboration with national and global partners including Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Smita Taneja, MBBS, MD (Public Health), DNB (Health & Hospital Administration), brings over 32 years of experience in the healthcare sector. She has been associated with CanSupport for more than 7 years, contributing significantly to palliative care services. She has completed specialised training in palliative care, including the CCPM from CanSupport (2018), the Stanford Certificate Course in Palliative Care (2019), and the Essentials of Palliative Care Certificate Course from Pallium (2023).

At CanSupport, she oversees counselor recruitment, training, and quality assurance, while driving research and institutional collaborations. With an M.Phil. in Psycho-oncology and published work on cancer survivorship and patient care, she is dedicated to fostering resilience, emotional well-being, and dignity for patients and families.
