CanSupport’s community networking team organized a door to door cancer and palliative care awareness drive in Karpuri Thakur camp, Srinivaspuri, Delhi on 9 April 2019. With the help of our Community networking officer around 160 families were reached and informed about cancer & its warning signs by home visits with a focus on the importance of early diagnosis in treatment of cancer.
An awareness camp was also organized on the same day. The session was aimed to raise awareness among general public about the major causes of cancer like smoking, alcohol intake, tobacco consumption, lack of exercise and a sedentary lifestyle etc that lead to serious problems. The Session was conducted by Savita Luka, Head Chief Nurse. Around 80 participants attended the camp. We are grateful to Durga, staff of New Opportunity for Women, NGO for helping and supporting us in organizing the camp.
