CanSupport with the support of Airport Authority of India organized a screening camp for women and cancer awareness session for the staff and local community around Ramditti J R Narang Deepalaya School on 7 August, 2019.

Three sessions were held at three different intervals during the day. Each session was conducted by Dr. Jay Shree; Dr. Swati and Dr. Shefali from AIIMS respectively. The sessions were aimed to raise awareness about the major causes of cancer such as smoking, alcohol intake, tobacco consumption, lack of exercise, and a sedentary lifestyle, etc.

They also explained about different forms of cancers, causes of cancer, symptoms and treatment available in Delhi. During the session, Doctors also informed the participants that according to research, breast and ovarian cancer are on the rise in women, while mouth, lung and blood cancer continue to increase among men.

71 women attended the awareness session and registered for the screening. We are grateful to Dr. Sangita Sen, Headmistress, Deepalaya; Dr. Jay Shree; Dr. Swati and Dr. Shefali from AIIMS and Kavita, Renuka Pandey and Rishi from Airport Authority of India for supporting us in organizing the session.
