CanSupport team was invited to conduct a cancer awareness session on World Cancer Day at Chitkara University, Punjab.

Dr. Gaurav, Savita Luka, Deputy Head, Training & Education and Jaspal Kaur, Chief Counsellor and Avneesh represented CanSupport at the university.

Chitkara University was observing World Cancer Day and had invited CanSupport to make their students aware about the growing concern around cancer and how we can take preventive measures against cancer and how to take care of cancer patients.

The major highlights from the talk were how one can prevent and minimize the risk of cancer by proactively going for regular check-ups. Savita Luka introduced Palliative Care to the students. Dr. Gaurav explained about Home Based Palliative Care by citing examples from the Punjab project. Jaspal Kaur took a session on communication with the use of role play.

A slogan writing competition was also organized for the students and a cancer awareness walk around the campus. Around 200 students and faculty attended the session and participated in the walk. The day concluded with giving out prizes to winners of best slogans on cancer awareness.
