We are very proud to share that at a recently held UN Special Session on Covid, CanSupport’s Founder-President, Harmala Gupta’s recorded video titled Providing Palliative Care to the Underserved Community during COVID19 in India was introduced.

In her speech, she spoke about the challenges faced by advanced cancer patients especially those who also tested Covid positive and the need for palliative care, to address the physical, spiritual, social, and emotional pain of families and survivors.

She mentioned that the WHO NCD Diseases Division had reported that palliative care services had been significantly disrupted during the pandemic and that CanSupport was ready to share its model of palliative care with relevant authorities and it stood by the IAHPC to collaborate with member states to integrate palliative care, an essential service to relieve health related suffering, into their COVID19 response.
