CanSupport invited Dimple Rawat, Associate General Manager -HR from Barco, our CSR partner, to conduct an interactive webinar on Empathetic Leadership.

With reference to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, Dimple said that the world needs Empathetic Leadership more than ever now.

Explaining “Empathetic Leadership,” Dimple said, “Empathy means to put oneself in the shoes of the other and to feel the pain they are going through. To put one’s ego aside and treat an individual as a human being. It means seeing through the eyes of the other, feeling from the heart of the other, and listening through the ears of the other. In today’s world, the only medicine that we need is empathy and the power of human connections.”

Dimple added that more than checking the “Intelligent quotient”, the corporates nowadays focus on checking the “Emotional quotient” of an individual, before hiring them in a leadership role because empathy is the glue that keeps people in a team together and bonded. Empathetic Leadership is the need of the hour and that we must create a culture of empathy in the world.
